Currently available for £159.97 on AMAZON UK, these B560 boards are really giving the Z590 boards a run for their money. The MSI B560M MORTAR WIFI offers very similar performance to every other B560 and even Z590 board we have tested! Whether it is gaming or synthetic benchmarks, the B560M MORTAR WIFI holds its own and is really out to prove that it is a well-worthy M-ATX motherboard for those looking to upgrade to a new 11th Gen CPU. For the price, it really is hard to go wrong!
Coming in at a very affordable price, especially when paired with something like the i5-11400F, the B560M MORTAR WIFI offers great value for money and has equally great performance. It features dual M.2 slots, plenty of USB options and a few RGB headers for good measure amongst all the standard features we would hope to see. Looking back at the rear IO again quickly, we have 2.5G LAN, WiFi 6e and a USB Type-C port to make sure that we are getting the most from this board, our internet and whatever hardware we have makes use of a Type-C port.
MSI is generally known for having good quality products that are designed to last and offer great functionality. The B560M MORTAR WIFI is no exception to this as we see a whole host of features to help us make the most of the motherboard. We also have things like a 6-layer PCB with 2oz thickened Copper, M.2 Shield FROZR for the Gen4 M.2 drive, PCIe Steel Armor and much more! I could keep naming all of the quality design aspects, but it should be apparent now that MSI has thoroughly planned out the B560M MORTAR WIFI design and executed their plans to the highest of standards.
Not much I can really say here. The testing and charts speak for themselves. The B560M MORTAR WIFI can keep up with Z590 boards and a much lower price, which we always love to see. The B560 chipset may be a tiny bit watered down, but it still manages to match the Z590 chipset performance. This speaks volumes and really makes boards like the B560M MORTAR WIFI that much more of a viable option. Currently, when looking into a new board for an 11th Gen CPU, you can pretty much take performance out of the equation as they all perform as equally well as each other.
While the B560M MORTAR WIFI is just that, a B560 motherboard, it still manages to incorporate WiFi 6e, a Gen4 M.2 drive, USB Type-C and amazing performance in an M-ATX form factor. Considering the price, the whole board is really added value in itself when you think about it. Good quality, design and performance are all things that add to the value, and that is what the B560M MORTAR WIFI encompasses.
Do you need an M-ATX motherboard for an 11th Gen CPU? Do you like MSI? Do you want some of the best performance on offer at a fraction of the price compared to Z590 motherboards? If you can answer yes to any of those questions, you already know the answer to whether you should buy one. Of course, it’s always hard to tell someone “yes, you should buy that” without knowing all their needs, but if this board has the features and connections you are looking for, I have no problem recommending it for your next build.
