MSI MAG GUNGNIR 300R Airflow Gaming Case Review

Interior

The interior of the 300R is just as stunning as the exterior, with a really striking all-white design and a few unique twists that make this case stand out from the crowd.

One of the most prominent features is this impressive GPU anti-sag bracket, which features a steel lower section and a clear upper section with the MSI dragon etched into it. It has ARGB lighting built into it so that the upper section will glow when powered up.

There are various mounts in the bottom of the case, allowing you to move this to match the length of whatever graphics card you’re installing.

In the back of the case, you’ll find a white ARGB fan as the main exhaust.

There are three more in the front of the case bringing airflow in. Even cooler is that the fans are all pre-wired to the built-in ARGB hub and the RGB control button on the front of the case, making it very easy to get it all working (it only needs a single SATA power cable).

As you can see, there are a lot of cable routing cut-outs dotted throughout this case, with three above the motherboard.

Three more on the PSU shroud.

And a larger vertical cut-out on the right of the motherboard. However, this one on the right is removable, allowing for larger E-ATX motherboards to be squeezed into the case.

One small detail is that the expansion slots screw from the interior of the case, I prefer this design, it just looks cleaner at the back of the case.

The right side panel has some ventilation too, and as you can see, there’s a magnetic dust filter on the interior. Don’t worry, that tape is just to secure it in shipping and can be removed.

Behind the motherboard, wow, MSI has really gone all out on that white theme even back here. There are a lot of cables in this case, with four fan cables, four ARGB cables, SATA power, and all the front panel goodies accounting for it all. However, they’ve already pre-routed them and strapped them down with Velcro straps, keeping it pretty tidy back here.

All of the cables and all their connectors are white too, so if you have a white motherboard, they’ll blend in well.

There’s a hub back here for all the RGB, and each of the fans has a y-split cable so you can connect even more RGB to each channel.

Need lots of storage? No problem! There are four SSD mounts right behind the motherboard, with two here…

One here.

And another just below that.

And if that’s not enough, this removable HDD cage supports 2 x 2.5″ or 3.5″ drives too.

The trays are made from durable plastic and make for quick and easy drive swaps.

Finally, we have the PSU mount, which offers plenty of space for larger units, as well as any modular cable connectors and excess cables.
