Overclocking
Overclocking this CPU was a mixed affair for me, and the scores we were getting were all over the place. With SenseMI and boost modes built right into the Ryzen Master Utility software, it’s easier to leave the software to work out the optimal performance for you. We got it to boost up to 4.15 easily enough using this method. Going any higher on this CPU would certainly require a water cooler.
The powerhouse performance combo from this motherboard and CPU is something to behold. Overclocking saw the WPrime score get below 30 seconds! While the Cinebench score almost hit 6000! Of course, this performance doesn’t come free, and the power consumption shot up by another 60w to 411. Even the idle usage is pretty high, but there’s a lot of hardware to power here.
