MSI MEG Z590 ACE Motherboard Review

How Much Does it Cost?

Currently priced at £439.98 on Amazon UK, this board is going to offer enthusiast-grade performance and features while still remaining a standard consumer-based board. What I mean by this, is it may not have all of the features a professional Overclocker or Content creator would want or need, but it will have most of them and do so without the added crazy price tag.

Overview

With a plethora of features, this board isn’t designed for your standard everyday user. It may be better aimed at professional gamers and entry-level enthusiasts and content creators. Looking at the board as a whole and it should find itself fitting in nicely inside a case or even atop a test bench depending on your preferred setup. The MSI MEG Z590 ACE offers more features than most will need but are always handy to have and does it all in a pleasant to look at the package.

Build Quality & Design

MSI has spared no expense when it comes to the quality and design of this board. As for quality, the Z590 ACE has plenty of heatsinks, M.2 shields and cooling solutions so you can push all your hardware to its absolute limits. Design-wise, we have a ridiculous amount of features incorporated into the board, again, allow users to push everything as far as they physically can. MSI’s MEG ACE boards are only a small step down from their Godlike range but feature a lot of the same great quality and design.

Performance

Out of the box, the MSI MEG Z590 ACE offers similar performance to a lot of the other Z590 boards we have tested though it does tend to find itself ever so slightly towards the top of the charts. A lot of the performance will come down to if you are actually going to make use of all the ‘Enthusiast’ level features this board has to offer, and if so, then the added performance will be at its greatest effect.

Added Value

Again we do have to talk about those added enthusiast-level features, extra armour, diagnostic headers and all that type of stuff. However, we can’t forget the addition of dual Thunderbolt 4 ports which offer 8K display support, WiFi 6E and Quad M.2 slots are all going to add to the overall value that the MSI MEG Z590 ACE has to offer.

Should I Buy One?

If you are looking for a Z590 board that has most of the bells and whistles you could want, then yes. There will be very few boards that will have more features on offer than the MSI MEG Z590 ACE and when they do, they will likely cost almost twice as much. The MEG Z590 ACE is a great look into the enthusiast world of Z590 and should be more than enough motherboard for most users.
