MSI is one of the leading brands for high-end gaming motherboards, so it’s no surprise that they’re launching quite a few new boards for 12th Gen Alder Lake processors! The new boards will feature the new LGA1700 socket, and come with a wealth of new features that are sure to tempt many to upgrade! However, while MSI will have more affordable boards coming to market, today, I’m looking at the MSI MEG Z690 Unify. While the Unify may not be their flagship, it’s still a very high-end board for the enthusiast gamers and overclockers out there, so while I’m certain the performance will be pretty amazing, the price will likely have a sting in the tail.

While this board isn’t the flagship from MSI, it’s pretty damn close and offers up a truly staggering array of features that’s sure to have you drooling. First, there’s a mighty 19+2 Power Phase design with 105A Smart Power Stage, easily one of the more robust setups we’ve seen this launch and that’ll make light work over maxing out any of the new CPUs hitting the market. There’s a wide range of new hardware options too, with the latest DDR5 memory supported, two PCIe Gen 5 x16 slots, and five M.2 slots, all supporting the super-fast PCIe Gen 4 standard. As if that’s not enough, you get dual 2.5 GbE LAN, as well as WiFi 6, and so much more. The Z690 Unify is a connectivity beast and will suit anyone who wants big overclocks, multiple graphics cards and lots of high-end storage, and let’s be honest, that is exactly what we want!
