MSI is well known for creating extremely high-end gaming hardware, such as their graphics cards, motherboards, and even their CPU coolers. However, their line-up of professional, business, and home products are full of impressive hardware too! Today, I’ll be taking a look at the new Modern AM242TP 11M, an all-in-one PC that’s part of their Business & Productivity range. An all-in-one PC is basically a monitor with the PC inside, which means it takes up less space, causes less clutter, and is significantly easier to deploy. While this isn’t really for the enthusiast gamers out there, if you’re setting up a smaller home office to work from home, it could be ideal.
True to its name, the AM242TP is both all-in-one and modern. It features a stylish design that’s sure to look great in virtually any environment. Plus, it comes with built-in speakers, a built-in webcam (with sliding privacy cover), an anti-glare and anti-flicker IPS display with built-in touch control, an ergonomic stand, HDMI in, Type-C 3.2 Gen 2, and much more that makes it very practical and easy to live with.
However, it’s also a competent PC too, with a choice of Intel Pentium Gold 7505, Core i3-1115G4, Core i5-1135G7, and Core i7-1165G7 CPUs. There are two DDR4 slots (up to 64GB total), a 2.5″ SATA III (7200RPM) that’s easily upgradable, and an M.2 SSD NMVe slot. so there are quite a few hardware combinations available on this one. It runs on Intel UHD graphics from the CPU, but the i5 and i7 have much faster Iris Xe graphics, which are comparable to the AMD APU ranges.
