MSI Modern MD272QP Ultramarine Monitor Review

Display Analysis
MSI claimed this had 95% sRGB but clearly, they need to improve their testing as I got 100% right out of the box. Plus, 81% of DCI-P3 is good too, just really nice colours overall.
The stock gamma settings are very good, only slightly off the 2.2 target, but so little a difference that only sensitive monitor hardware could tell. The overall brightness scaling looks excellent.
Even the grey ramp is very good, a small dip of around 120 Kelvin at the start, but mostly very level, and this is a very good result overall (honestly).
Using the stock settings (Eco Mode) the monitor is extremely colour-accurate, anything under 5 is OK, under 3 is ideal, and below 2 is bloody excellent. The blue is a little strong, but that’s normal for most monitors, which usually default to a cool picture.
I set the monitor to User Mode, turned the brightness down to my taste (doesn’t affect colours), and set the white level to Warm. As you can see, there was a net gain on all colours, and giving us a Delta-E of less than 1… amazing!
