Complete System
Building a system inside the MPG Velox 100R was pretty straightforward, and so it should be for such a premium-priced case! The case is marketed towards the enthusiast gamer market, and let’s be honest, they’re a demanding bunch. Thankfully, I had no issues getting the build done, and I’m especially pleased with how neat and tidy everything looks.
The cable management is on point for ATX motherboards, but that’s hardly surprising. There’s a lot of extra space under the PSU shroud, and ample space behind the motherboard, ensuring cables can easily be sent where they need to be or left out of sight. However, E-ATX boards like the one I’ve used cover some holes, so you’ll need to pass cables vertically from the shroud.
The routing holes are all well located, and I didn’t find any struggle putting cables through any of them. It still baffles me how some cases come with holes that are too small!
Large GPU? No problem, most of the largest cards on the market will fit with ease. Of course, always measure before you place your order anyway, just to be sure.
Switching things up, here’s the same card but using the included vertical mounting bracket. Keep in mind, this configuration comes at the cost of your other expansion slots. Not powered up though as I have no raiser cable.
There’s clearly room for a decent sized air cooler. Albeit, if you didn’t want to go liquid cooling, there’s really good support for multiple radiators here. Personally, I like air cooling, and with four fans pre-installed, it certainly makes sense to me to make use of them.
The fans are pre-installed, but I suppose you could change their configuration if you so desired. I quite like them as is though, and the ARGB lighting effects are certainly a welcome addition.
You can change the lighting effects via the button on the front panel.
It’ll cycle colours and effects easily enough, and you can also turn the lights off with it.
However, you can pair the hub to your motherboard header if you prefer to sync everything and use software to configure them.
All closed up, the build looks super slick and very cool indeed. The case already looked good to begin with, but the hardware and the RGB complement each other well. Of course, with dual windows, you can easily enjoy the view too.
