MSI is one of the biggest gaming brands in the world, so it comes as no surprise that they’re moving into the world of gaming monitors. Their latest monitors come under the new MSI OPTIX branding, and there will be two models available at launch.
The first is the G27C, which comes with a 27-inch panel. It features a Samsung TN panel, with an 1800R curved design. While the screen only uses a 1920 x 1080p resolution, it does have a 144 Hz refresh rate. You can expect a 4ms GTG response time, 178°/178° viewing angles. The 27-inch model features height and tilt adjustments.
Connectivity is good too, with DisplayPort 1.2a, HDMI 1.4a, and DVI. However, the key feature is that it’ll also support AMD FreeSync Technology for silky smooth gameplay.
For the most part, this is the same as the monitor above, and also offers FreeSync Technology. However, this one clocks in at just 24-inch in size, and while it’ll allow for height adjustment, it doesn’t offer tilt adjustment. No big deal though, especially if it means the price comes down a little.
Unfortunately, MSI has not revealed the pricing information for these new panels. However, I would expect them to be pretty competitive with other 144 Hz monitors that are currently on the market. We don’t have a release date either, but I’m certain it will be soon. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we know more.
