MSI Optix MPG321QRF-QD 32″ Gaming Monitor Review

There’s no shortage of amazing gaming monitors these days. All of the big-name brands have something worthy of your time, some at reasonable prices, and some at unreasonable prices, but really, there’s a bit of something for everyone and every budget. MSI may be best known for their graphics cards and motherboards, to name but a few products they produce. However, their gaming monitors are some of the best in the world too, so I’ve really been looking forward to testing the new MSI Optix MPG321QRF-QD.

It’s a very well equipped monitor. While not flagship technology, at £690 it’s not exactly low-end hardware either. MSI’s have a model above this with a 4K panel for around £900, but at 2K resolution, I think the QRF-QD will have the broadest appeal with most competitive PC gamers, and their wallets. There are fewer modern gimmicks here than I expected too, it’s not curved, and it isn’t ultrawide either. This is a 16:9 flat panel, so in many ways, it feels more traditional. It comes with a 175Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, G-Sync Compatible, VESA Display HDR 600, and an IPS panel. It promises impressive colour reproduction too, thanks to the Quantum Dot Technology, delivering up to 99% Adobe RGB, 97% DCI-P3 and 82% Rec.2020.

Features

  • IPS Panel – Provides 1ms fast response time, optimizes screen colors and brightness.
  • A content creation level color reproduction of 99% Adobe RGB, 97% DCI-P3 and 82% Rec.2020 by utilizing a dynamically engineered layer of Quantum Dot technology.
  • WQHD High Resolution – Games will look even better, displaying more details.
  • 175Hz Refresh Rate – Respond faster with smoother frames.
  • 1ms Response Time – Eliminate screen tearing and choppy frame rates.
  • Gaming Intelligence – Gaming Intelligence is how we label software integrated MSI products. These products contain AI gaming features for gamers’ specific needs.
  • NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible – Prevent screen tearing or stuttering, producing ultra-smooth lag-free gameplay.
  • Gaming OSD App – Create the perfect viewing settings for your games.
  • Adjustable Stand – Easily change the position of the monitor for maximum ergonomics.
  • VESA DisplayHDR 600 – Stunning visuals through contrast and shadow adjustment.
  • Night Vision – Smart black tuner to brighten your day by bringing out the fine details in dark areas.
  • Mystic Light – The ultimate gaming finish.
