An overclocker from the MSI team has managed to push the Kingston Fury Renegade CUDIMM RAM to an impressive 12,196 MT/s, setting a new benchmark in DDR5 memory speeds.
The race to reach the highest speed in DDR5 memory has intensified. Initially, G.Skill broke the 12,000 MT/s mark, only to be quickly outdone by Kingston with a speed of 12,108 MT/s. G.Skill responded by reaching 12,112 MT/s, claiming a brief world record. Now, an MSI overclocker, using an MSI motherboard paired with Kingston Fury memory, has taken the lead again.
The latest record of 12,196 MT/s was achieved using an MSI MEG Z890 UNIFY-X motherboard and a single module of Kingston Fury Renegade CUDIMM. The overclocker reached this impressive speed with a single 24GB module, clocking in at 6,097.6MHz, or double the 12,196 MT/s. Stability was maintained by timing adjustments of 48-120-120-127 and the use of liquid nitrogen cooling.
The quest for high, stable speeds in DDR5 continues, although such overclocking feats are not yet practical for everyday use due to the need for specialized cooling setups like liquid nitrogen. Kingston has promised speeds up to 10,000 MT/s with the new CUDIMM modules—a milestone that may soon be reached without the need for extreme overclocking methods.
