MSI is launching the MSI GS63 and 73VR Stealth Pro ultra-slim gaming notebooks with the latest GTX 1070 GPU. This provides a significant graphical performance advantage over the previous GeForce GTX 980M version by as much as 15%. It even comfortably outperforms a GTX 980M with overclock (1500 vs 1100 3DMark 11P score). Best of all, it remains as slim as ever, making it very portable without sacrificing performance.
The GS73VR is the larger of the two, having a 17.3″ Full HD 1920 x 1080 display and weighing in at 2.43kg. Despite this, it is only 19.6mm tall. The GS63 Stealth Pro on the other hand, is slightly slimmer at only 17.7mm tall, and weighs in at only 1.89kg. It also has a slightly smaller display at 15.6″, although it is also a Full HD panel.
MSI Cooler Boost Trinity Cooling System
To keep things thermally in check in such a small space, MSI employs the Cooler Boost Trinity system. This consists of three whirlwind-blade fans, each with 41 blades, delivering superior cooling performance. More importantly, it does this at a significantly lower noise than you would think. This high blade-count design allows for 30% airflow increase at the same RPM in comparison to standard laptop fans.
Hi-res Audio and Display
To compliment the powerful GPU, MSI also equips the GS series laptops with fast 3ms, 120Hz refresh rate displays. The audio experience is also impressive with the use of ESS SABRE HiFi audio DAC, granting the GS73VR and GS63VR with 24bit/192KHz sampling rate.
