MSI Partners Up with EKWB for GTX 1080 Ti Sea Hawk EK X

MSI has announced another addition to their Sea Hawk video card lineup made in partnership with EKWB called the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Sea Hawk EK X video card. Unlike other MSI Sea Hawk video cards which use an all-in-one liquid cooling unit, the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Sea Hawk EK X video card is outfitted with a customized EKWB water block that has a thick see-through glass acrylic top and nickel plated copper contact surface.
EK Supremacy EVO Cooling Engine
The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Sea Hawk EK X video card can readily be incorporated into any liquid cooling loop. It has a pair of G1/4 plugs for that. The water block directly cools the GPU, RAM and VRM as well. The water flows directly across these critical areas. The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Sea Hawk EK X video card features a central inlet split-flow cooling engine design which also works with reversed water flow without adversely affecting the cooling performance. This cooling engine also works even on weaker water-pumps unlike other blocks.
As for the video card itself, it measures 277 x 170 x 22 mm, slightly wider than most video cards due to the G1/4 plugs on the side and although the block itself is a single-slot height design, the DVI-D connector and the rear IO makes the card a dual-slot solution. Aside from the DVI-D port, there are two DisplyPorts and two HDMI ports.
The card has a full cover metal backplate with an MSI badge. It also has an MSI Mystic Light LED feature that is able to be controlled via the Mystic Light app.
What About Clock Speeds?
The video card is powered via two 8-pin PSU connectors. It also has 11GB of GDDR5X memory like other GTX 1080 Ti cards. There are three performance presets that users can choose from:
- 1683 MHz / 1569 MHz / 11124 MHz (OC Mode)
- 1657 MHz / 1544 MHz / 11016 MHz (Gaming Mode)
- 1582 MHz / 1480 MHz / 11016 MHz (Silent Mode)
