MSI Press Conference at CES 2017

MSI are one of the biggest manufacturers of GPUs, motherboards, notebooks and more, so we couldn’t wait to see what new products they had to show at CES 2017! The MSI team took to the stage to show off their latest innovations using Kaby Lake, the new GTX 10 series GPUs, Hi-Res audio and more.

With Kaby Lake, as well as the GTX 10-series, MSI said they’re now able to deliver a 25% performance improvement in VR applications, a huge increase over last year, and a huge win for anyone looking for portable VR gaming thrills.

With all their range now able to take advantage of the latest CPUs and GPUs from Intel and Nvidia respectively, they’ve got something for every price range when it comes to notebook gaming. Obviously, the GTX 1050 Ti comes in at the lower end GL series, while the GTX 1080 is for the enthusiast GT series.

Peripherals are big business too, with MSI now offering the first notebooks with Cherry MX RGB Speed, also known as MX Silver. The switch was previously exclusive to Corsair keyboards, so it’s great to see this shorter actuation switch now hitting other parts of the market.

Motherboards are a huge deal this year, with the launch of Kaby Lake and the latest Intel 200-series chipset hitting the market. MSI now has their new Z270, B250, and H270 series of boards hitting the market. Expect features like DDR4 Boost, RGB Mystic Light, AudioBoost 4, M.2 Shield, and so much more!

Graphics Upgrade Solution, something we’ve seen before, but the latest offer Thunderbolt plug and play, a built-in PSU, as well as support for the latest 10-series GPUs. Need high-end gaming performance at home? Simply hook up the GUS with Thunderbolt to take full advantage of your GPU of choice!

More peripherals! Their new Immerse GH70 headset, Clutch GM70 and Vigor GK80 keyboard offer high-end hardware, promising high-end performance and stylish aesthetics. We’ll have more details on these shortly though and we’re looking forward to reviewing them very soon!
