We had to pick our jaws up off the floor at Computex 2019, as MSI had what may be the best monitor I’ve ever seen. Sure, I’ve seen some that are better in some ways, but all round, this is the one for me. Firstly, the new monitor was next to their award-winning P100 series desktop. This tiny tower looks stunning, but it’s packing some serious hardware too. It features (up to) and Intel i9-9900K, as well as 64GB of memory, and an RTX 2080 Ti. Not bad for such a compact and stylish looking PC.
This is the monitor in question. It features a stunning 34″ ultra-wide panel, with a 5K2K resolution. That’s 5120 x 2160 resolutions. So ultra-wide, but maintaining the same vertical resolution at a 4K monitor. You’ll need some pretty hefty GPU power to game at THAT resolution, that’s for sure.
The panel is stunning, and features Nano-IPS tech, with HDR 600, and 98% CI-P3 coverage. It has a VESA mount should you need it, although the built in stand look superb.
“With the world’s first customizable eco-system software Creator OSD & Creator Center, and TrueColor Technology, Prestige PS341WU can synchronize with the MSI Prestige series desktops & laptops to link with creators’ applications, such as Graphics Design, Music & Video Editing, or Art & Animation software, to provide the best performance and viewing experience for creators.” – MSI
At around $1200, it’s not cheap, but then again, it’s hardly the most expensive monitor in the world. For me, that resolution is truly perfect though.
If that’s a bit out of your price range, there is the Optix MAG321CURV. It features a 4K HDR panel, with a 60 Hz refresh rate and AMD FreeSync. It’s only 16 x 9, but also comes with a 1500R VA curved display.
