Already this week we’ve seen Gigabyte teasing their upcoming Z270 Aorus branded motherboards, now we’ve got MSI throwing their name into the hat, teasing their upcoming Tomahawk Z270 based motherboard! Their new Gaming Series Tomahawk branding teases a high-end gaming motherboard, which looks to be packed full of features that should give it a strong competitive stance against the offerings from brands like ASUS ROG and Gigabyte Aorus.
As TPU pointed out, the board claims to have hit a rather phenomenal 1000 MB/s bandwidth over USB 3.1 Gen 2.0 thanks to their custom software features, which MSI is calling X-Boost. That’s crazy in terms of performance and should appeal greatly to those who use high-performance external storage drives. It gets even better when you see they promise Double Bandwidth USB 3.1, which can deliver 8 GB/s
Also in the picture, we can see some LED lighting on the motherboard heatsink, two M.2 mounts, and 3x PCI-E 16x, the top most of which has some armour fitted.
The board certainly looks interesting, and we’re certainly it won’t be the only board in their upcoming Z270 range. Judging by the size of the heatsinks on this board, it’s far from their enthusiast overclocking range, but it’ll no doubt still be very competitive and we can’t wait to see what else they have in store for launch day.
