Overclocking

In terms of overclocking we managed a solid 1060MHz on the core and a whopping 1625MHz on the memory. That makes for a final 9% OC on the core and 16% OC on the memory compared to MSI factory speeds. While it couldn’t match the ASUS Direct CU II OC model in terms of core overclocking, it does have a significant lead on the memory overclocking. Overall the final overclock is very pleasing but it is important to note there will be silicon variance – some cards will manage 1150MHz and others 1025MHz. That said most should do around 1050MHz based on this performance which is a nice free boost.

  • MSI R9 270 TwinFrozr Gaming OC Edition – 1060MHz core and 1625MHz memory.
  • Sapphire R9 270 Dual-X – 1030MHz core and 1525MHz memory.
  • ASUS R9 270 Direct CU II OC – 1154MHz core and 1520MHz memory.
