MSI Radeon HD 7950 Twin Frozr III 3GB Graphics Card Review

To test power consumption, we monitor the overall power of the system through a plug-in electricity usage monitor at an idle and load state. This allows us to show the fluctuation between how much power draw the graphics card takes at idle and at load. By monitoring the overall usage of the whole system, it gives an easy comparison if you wish to do the same yourself as opposed to buying very expensive individual testing equipment.
Power wise, we see the Twin Frozr 3 giving a slightly lower power output at idle compared to the reference 7950 and Sapphire OC card. At load, the card used a little more power than the reference card, though quite considerably lower amounts were used at load compared to the Sapphire OC 7950. Based on the performance that we’ve seen, a few extra watts here and there are nothing to worry about as the performance, more than makes up for it.
