When a new GPU arrives it’s often not that interesting to cover the releases from AIB’s as it’s often just the same designs we’ve seen before already with other GPU releases within the GPU generation. This however is not the case with MSI, as alongside the launch of the RTX 40 SUPER series graphics cards, they have revealed a new product line by the name of EXPERT.
With the new launch MSI revealed SUPRIM, Gaming Trio, Gaming Slim and Ventus models for the RTX 4080 Super, 4070 Ti Super and 4070 Super graphics cards all of which we’ve seen before with previous releases, but what stands out is the new Expert series that has been introduced. This new design is quite simply a redesign of NVIDIA’s founders edition cards which some may consider to be the best looking FE cards NVIDIA has made and possibly best in terms of cooling as well. EXPERT uses a push-pull airflow design for enhanced cooling efficiency working alongside a core pipe and vapor chamber to effectively dissipate heat.
Whilst the overall shape and cooling design is the same as the FE cards, the visuals are much different. It uses an aluminium die-cast construction throughout with a golden colour scheme which can be compared to the EVOKE series 5700XT. The front of the card features the ventilation for the rear fan with several aluminium fins creating an angled dotted pattern. It’s overall a very nice looking card although I’m not 100% sold on the gold, but based on images from the MSI CES booth, it seems subtle enough to work. Whilst MSI hasn’t mentioned exactly what GPU’s will be using this cooler, photos from CES suggest it will be equipped with an RTX 4080 SUPER.
Now just to quick fire exactly what MSI has brought out for the 40 SUPER Series starting off with the 4080 SUPER which includes the new EXPERT, SUPRIM X, Gaming Trio, Gaming X Slim and Ventus 3X. The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER will include the Ventus 2X, Ventus 3X, Gaming X Trio and Gaming X Slim Black & White. Finally the RTX 4070 SUPER will include Ventus 3X, Ventus 2X and Gaming X SLIM in both black and white variants.
