MSI has today introduced its new Gaming Slim family of graphics cards offering a slimmer design using the existing elements of the Gaming graphics card series.
The MSI Gaming Slim series is a new slim design of the Gaming graphics card series which is available for the RTX 4090 through to the RTX 4060 Ti. This design comes in as an option for those with limited space for the thicker cards that are often seen with the 80 and 90 class cards Plus they are available in white and black continuing on with the more common sight of white hardware options.
With a slimmer profile naturally, the expectation is the thermal capabilities will be compromised however this is not the case. The cooling system in these cards utilises the TRI FROZR 3 design with TORX Fan 5.0 fans that use pairs of three fan blades connected by an outer link. This design forms a rim to direct the airflow into the updated thermal module underneath. The heatsink uses a nickel-plated copper baseplate with up to 8 Core Pipes to effectively dissipate the heat. Additionally, a metal backplate with a flow-through opening provides structural rigidity as well as enhanced heat dissipation.
