Straight away, I find the RTX 2070 to be performing where I personally expected it would. It’s as near as makes no difference the same as the GTX 1080, albeit the one on our charts is an overclocked model and not a reference card. I mean, this is no bad thing given they are about the same price. Not only that, but the RTX has a few more features at its disposal which aren’t represented in this kind of benchmark. More on that in a few minutes.
FireStrike Extreme
FireStrike Ultra
Unigine Superposition 1080p Extreme
3DMark tests everything from CPU to memory performance, and not just GPU. However, Unigine is pretty much all about GPU horsepower. It’s here that we see the RTX 2070 show its colours, and it pulls ahead of the GTX 1080, especially at 1080p. It’s also not far behind the GTX 1080 Ti, and overall, I’d say the card sits nicely between the two in regards to raw GPU performance.
