MSI RTX 3060 Ti Gaming X Trio Graphics Card Review

How Much Does It Cost?
The MSI RTX 3060 Ti Gaming X Trio Graphics Card is set to cost £449.99, which is the same as the ASUS RTX 3060 Ti TUF Gaming. However, it’s a bit more than the Gigabyte OC card, which is set to launch at £409.99. Please keep in mind that this review goes live a day before the retail release of the cards. Overview
When I saw this card, I did wonder why it has two 8pin PSU connectors, which is more than we’ve seen on other RTX 3060 Ti cards. However, that all became clear when we get to testing, as it was very quickly the leader of the RTX 3060 Ti pack. All the cards performed very well, but in the more demanding tests, this card did pull a few FPS ahead. Albeit, it’d be hard to tell just by looking at the screen which card was running if I’m honest.
What does work for this card is that massive cooler. The card was very quiet at 37.5 dBa, making it one of the quietest cards we’ve ever tested actually. It was the warmest of the three cards tested today though, hitting 67c, but still nothing that would cause it to throttle. Honestly, a slightly more aggressive fan curve wouldn’t hurt though, it would still be quiet and would benefit you on warmer days and longer gaming sessions.
This card is going to work well for any resolution you desire, within reason. At 1080p, you’ll be able to take advantage of high refresh rate displays. At 1440p and on Ultrawide monitors, you’ll be able to hit high and consistent frame rates easily and still retain those lovely quality settings. 4K is a mixed bag, with some games hitting around 45 FPS using high settings, but others far exceeding 60. Either way, 4K gaming is certainly attainable on this model, but a 3070 may be a better jumping point for resolution fans.

Should I Buy One?
This is one of the more expensive models, but it’s also one of the fastest cards too. It’s hard to ignore the cooling performance of the ASUS card, or the affordability of the Gigabyte card. However, when it comes to getting great gaming performance, MSI is the best of the bunch and it’s stunning looking card as well!
