MSI have revealed a brand new gaming notebook dubbed the GP70. This new notebook is a 17.3 inch gaming-style notebook with a screen resolution of 1600 by 900 or 1920 by 1080 depending on your choice. The system features some “potent specifications” by normal notebook standards but is more of a budget-orientated gaming notebook by MSI’s usual standards. There is the option of a variety of Haswell Mobile Core series processors, an Nvidia GeForce GT 740M graphics processing unit with 2GB of GDDR3 memory, up to 16GB of RAM and a hybrid storage drive that combines 24GB of NAND flash with 1TB of mechanical storage.
Additionally MSI have continued the trend of offering a “gaming-grade” keyboard, produced by SteelSeries, and they provide the usual array of connectivity: 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet and Bluetooth 4.0. The notebook measures 418 x 269.3 x 39 mm and it weighs about 2.7 kg. Inputs and outputs include gold-plated audio jacks, a pair of USB 3.0 ports, gigabit ethernet, VGA, HDMI 1.4a, a tray loading optical drive (specifications vary by choice) and an SDIO slot supporting SDXC memory cards.
Prices will vary by user-selected configuration. You should be able to buy this gaming notebook soon from retailers like Overclockers UK.
