MSI Unveils New Modern MD272UPSW Smart Monitor
MSI just revealed their new PC monitor, and it’s a little bit different, as it’s a Google TV Smart Monitor, which is something I’ve never heard of before. The Modern MD272UPSW Smart Monitor supports Multi Control and KVM functions, making it ideal for those who work from home and enjoy a lot of their media on their computer. It comes equipped with a 4K UHD IPS panel with wide colour gamut coverage of 94% Adobe RGB and 98% DCI-P3, so it should have a pretty fantastic image quality. Furthermore, the monitor includes a USB Type-C port with 65w Power Delivery, allowing you to connect laptops and similar devices to the display, and charge them with a single cable.

Google TV
That’s right, rather than just using desktop software, the monitor has native Google TV built-in, offering thousands of movies, episodes and apps right on the display, much like a smart TV. Of course, it comes with voice control too, simply hit the Google Assistant button and start screaming commands at it till it understands (that’s how mine all seem to work, at least).
The built-in KVM is a nice feature though, as it allows you to hook up your peripherals directly to the monitor, and as you change the display between multiple systems, such as your home desktop and work laptop, it switches the peripherals over to the relevant system. There’s also Wireless Display options, allowing you to use Google Cast, and Miracast, making it extremely versatile for home users.
Finally, with built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI 2.0b, DisplayPort 1.4a, LAN (RJ45) port, Dolby Audio, and USB Type-C with 65w Power Delivery, you’ll not be left wanting when it comes to connectivity.
