When Speed is a Priority
MSI is unveiling their latest monitor they are calling the Oculux NXG251R. This monitor is “all about eSports” according to MSI, so its performance is tailored for speed rather than colour accuracy.
After all, the last thing you want when you are a hardcore gamer is have a long input log. Nor would you tolerate seeing screen tearing while playing. Which is why the Oculux NXG251R comes with NVIDIA G-Sync support, providing a hardware based tear-free framerates.
The 24.5 inch monitor uses a Full-HD (1920×1080) 240Hz TN panel with near borderless edges. This makes it ideal for multi-monitor setups.
The Oculux NXG251R measures 506.1 x 182.4 x 507 mm and even has VESA mount support. Although the default stand is adjustable as well for convenience.
In terms of connectivity, it has a DP 1.2 (up to 240Hz), HDMI 1.4 (up to 60Hz), 3x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type A and 1x USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-B. There is also a Mystic Light compatible RGB LED strip providing ambient lighting at the rear.
How Much is the MSI Oculux NXG251R Monitor?
The MSI Oculux NXG251R eSports gaming monitor is now available for $499 via Best Buy or other retailers.
That might sound really pricey for a 24″ TN panel display, but keep in mind that G-sync is a hardware solution that adds several hundred to the price tag. So if absolute speed is what you are after, then this might be the monitor for you.
