MSI X299 XPOWER Gaming AC Motherboard Revealed

MSI X299 XPOWER Gaming AC

MSI has just revealed their flagship X299 motherboard! The X299 XPOWER GAMING AC comes with a huge range of features, tailored to the enthusiast user. That means high-end overclocking, thanks to its powerful 14 phase (12+1+1) DigitALL premium power design. It also features Loadline Calibration, MSI Turbo Socket, and External Clock Gen. Combined, these will help you squeeze the best performance out of the latest Intel Core X-Series CPUs.

XPower

Hailing from a long line of powerful XPower motherboards, the new one goes back to black. Personally, I loved the crazy yellow ones, but it still looks stunning. Throw in some Mystic Light RGB, and you’ll be able to customise this board till your heart is content.

New M.2 Shield Frozr

Besides top-level performance, the X299 XPOWER GAMING AC also features new unique features. The M.2 Shield FROZR is MSI’s new built-in M.2 thermal solution, so you never have to worry about your PCI-Express based NVMe M.2 SSD to start throttling, lowering down performance. This premium M.2 Shield heatsink is connected to the motherboards’ PCH heatsink which features its same thickness and robustness as well as great cooling capabilities. 2x M.2 Shield v2 heatsinks are also available to deliver maximum performance when using multiple M.2 devices at the same time.

Dual Intel LAN and Wireless AC

To maximize your internet and gaming, the new XPOWER features premium Dual Intel LAN, optimized for maximum transfer speeds by reducing CPU overhead and offering exceptionally high TCP and UDP throughput. Besides one of the best wired options available, an Intel Wireless AC card is also included with XPOWER. Both Intel based Wireless and LAN ports come with bandwidth management and traffic prioritization. Simply use the user-friendly MSI GAMING LAN MANAGER app to set up and optimize your internet connection on your XPOWER fueled gaming rig the way you want.

Audio Boost 4 with Premium Components and Isolated Design

With Audio Boost 4, powered by Nahimic 2+, the X299 XPOWER GAMING AC delivers the highest sound quality through the use of premium quality audio components and an isolated audio PCB. An added audio cover and golden audio connectors ensure the purest audio signal.

Steel Armor

Steel Armor emphasizes on signal enhancement and prevents electromagnetic interference (EMI), all for pure signals to maximize performance on memory, graphics cards, and U.2 storage, makes X299 XPOWER GAMING AC unbreakable and tough when gaming or overclocking.

MSI XPANDER-Z for M.2 Slot Expansion

X299 XPOWER GAMING AC also equipped with all the latest storage standards. TURBO M.2 and U.2 are available as well as plenty of SATA ports. Included in the box is the new M.2 Xpander-Z PCI-E add-on card. Once installed, a total of 5x M.2 slots are now available to be used, even at the same time to satisfy all the needs of any power user.

Limitless USB 3.1 Gen 2 Options, Includes Front Type-C

With significant improvement on performance and energy efficiency the ASMedia ASM3142 controller is fitted to all MSI X299 motherboards. This allowed us to upgrade the Front USB 3.1 Type-C connector from Gen1 to Gen2, for maximum performance. For the best performance and compatibility, MSI worked closely with several major case manufacturers like BitFenix, Corsair, In Win and Phanteks for thorough product testing, to make sure their new chassis’ featuring front USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C are 100% compatible with any MSI X299 motherboard.

DDR4 Boost: Record-breaking Memory Performance

By fully isolating the memory circuitry, DDR4 Boost ensures maximum performance and stability. The technical enhancements of DDR4 Boost allow for more stability at higher memory speeds compared to other brands. Enjoy the additional boost in gaming performance or when working with large video and photo files. Worth noting, is the recent breaking of the DDR4 memory WorldRecord using the MSI X299 GAMING PRO CARBON AC motherboard, to reach an astounding DDR4-5500. After breaking this WorldRecord, MSI engineers ensured that each MSI X299 motherboard is capable of running at least DDR4-5000 and some even more as the proven. For CPU overclocking MSI X299 motherboards feature the most powerful PWM design with more power phases, best for extreme overclockers.

The New Flagship X299 Motherboard: A Complete Package

With the X299 XPOWER GAMING AC, overclockers and gamers can now enjoy the best performance and features available on any X299 motherboard.

Price and Availability

No word on the price just yet, but with this being a flagship board, expect it to be in line with the competition. We don’t have the date just yet, but expect it to hit the market very soon!
