CPU & GPU Performance
Cinebench
During the Cinebench R15 tests, the motherboard achieved an excellent set of scores while using the i7-7700K at its stock configuration. Once overclocked, the performance was good and the MSI Z270 GAMING PRO CARBON wasn’t too far behind other options.
WPrime
In WPrime, the motherboard completed the calculation tasks in a very respectable time. When the 5.0GHz overclock was applied, the motherboard maintained its solid showing and offered commendable performance.
SiSoft Sandra
Here we can see the motherboard posts another great set of scores and is within touching distance of obtaining a top-three spot. Overclocked performance is just as impressive and the motherboard pushes well above its weight for an affordable solution.
3DMark
Sadly, the 3DMark performance is towards the lower-end of the scale and drops below the 16200 range. To be fair, it’s not a huge dip compared to rival motherboards. Once overclocked, the MSI Z270 GAMING PRO CARBON fares much better.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Next up, the motherboard posts a decent frame-rate in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided but it’s near the bottom. Once again, the difference is minimal and which puts the charts into perspective. Overclocking the CPU doesn’t dramatically enhance the frame-rate, although it’s enough to make the motherboard rise up the table.
Rise of the Tomb Raider
On a similar note, there’s very little to choose between all the Z270 motherboards throughout gaming benchmarks. Nevertheless, the MSI Z270 GAMING PRO CARBON is a great option for any premium graphics card.
