3DMark Firestrike is Futuremark’s latest creation for testing the GPU performance of high-end gaming PCs using Direct X 11 graphics. You can download a free basic version of 3DMark here.
GPU performance is generally limited to the GPU, CPU and bandwidth through the PCIe slots. It has already been proven that the CPU and bandwidth isn’t an issue, so the GPU gets to show what it can really do. It is proven here.
Tomb Raider
Tomb Raider is a popular action-adventure video game published by Square Enix based on the Tomb Raider franchise. The game was released in 2013 and as of March 2014 had sold 6 million copies.
Bioshock Infinite
Bioshock Infinite is a first person shooter developed by Irrational Games that is the third instalment of the Bioshock series. The game is the last to be produced by Irrational Games before they announced their closure in February 2014. The game has sold over 4 million copies since its 2013 release.
Recently there has been an update to Bioshock which has given it a performance boost at 1080p. However, looking at Tomb Raider, performance increase is negligable.
I am using a different board (ASRock, since they provide good quality and they are less costly) with different chipset. But I must tell that Intel is going to far with this the idea of constant changes of sockets. This is not good, as we, customers, have to buy again and again a new motherboard to get the latest technlogy.
