MSI Z97S SLI PLUS (LGA 1150) Motherboard Review

Memory Performance

For our memory tests we use the built in memory benchmarks in AIDA64 Engineer and SiSoft Sandra. For more details on each of the benchmarks please see here and here respectively.

AIDA64 Engineer

ASUS always seems to smash the memory benchmarks and we can see MSI’s Z97S SLI PLUS is some way off the ASUS boards. Actually it has weakest memory performance we’ve seen so far.

SiSoft Sandra

That weak memory performance is repeated in SiSoft, only the Z97 Extreme6 is slower.

Combined Latency Test

In memory latency we find the Z97S SLI PLUS performed the worse. Maybe MSI’s auto timing function uses slacker timings than rival vendors?
