MSI’s Intel & AMD Motherboards Fully Support 256GB Memory

Memory capacities on consumer motherboards are growing fast with 192GB motherboard support coming last year following the release of 48GB memory modules, and now we’re pushing up to 256GB support which is far beyond more than what the average user needs.
MSI 256GB Memory Intel and AMD Motherboard Support
MSI has today announced that now both its AMD and Intel motherboards support 256GB memory capacities through the use of 4x 64GB DIMMs or 2x 128GB DIMMs. The support includes Intel 700 & 600 series DDR5 motherboards as well as all AMD 600 Series AM5 motherboards.
The BIOS updates for the AM5 motherboards were released back in January, however the BIOS updates for Intel motherboards is being rolled out through February and March, the first batch of BIOS update includes the following motherboards.

To update your MSI BIOS, visit msi.com/support and find your motherboard by using the drop down menus. If you need to find out how to flash your BIOS you can follow MSI’s guide here, though if you’re using 256GB of RAM, I imagine you’re already well aware of the process.
