Sure big-budget AAA games such as Assassin’s Creed: Origins and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus are coming out this week. However, how about trying an old-school 2D-sidscroller based on a big-budget Hollywood movie? Then The Mummy Demastered might be right up your wheelhouse. The title by publisher/developer WayForward studio is based on the recent critically panned Tom Cruise movie.
The move to create a 16-bit Metal Slug/Contra-style game may not be because the studio ran out of budget, but rather because it is easier to make and release on time than a full-fledged 3D game. After all, many movie-to-video game adaptations tend to be awful and rushed. Judging from the trailer however, The Mummy Demastered looks a lot more fun than watching the movie. Here are the system requirements so you can run it on a PC.
As expected, users don’t need much to run the game on the PC. It is also going to be available for the Nintendo Switch for those who prefer to take the game with them. Check out a preview of the gameplay from the teaser trailer below.
