Netflix Gaming
While Netflix has undoubtedly grown into one of the biggest TV streaming platforms, the fact of the matter is that based on their own developed TV shows, they have the rights to a lot of interesting IPs. As such, branching out into gaming has always seemed like a more than viable opportunity for them, particularly since Telltale Games went under.
Well, it seems that Netflix is preparing to take this to the next level as following a Twitter post, the company has confirmed that they will be attending E3 2019 to discuss their future in the gaming industry.

What Can We Expect?
One of the first ‘Netflix Originals’ shows to get the gaming treatment will be the release of ‘Stranger Things’ on the Nintendo Switch this Summer. There is, however, clearly potential for a lot more to come. I do, however, have to highlight the irony of a Netflix game coming out on a system that doesn’t currently support the Streaming network.
In addition, they are one of the few companies with the financial clout that could genuinely look to get into game development in a very serious way.
What Do We Think?
Netflix has already shown more than a little interest in the ‘interactive’ side of entertainment. This was perhaps best highlighted to date with their ‘choose your own adventure’ style Bandersnatch episode.
While the panel will discuss their role in their future in gaming, there is something more than a little curious about this. No less, if they decide to extend their current TV platform into a game streaming service as well.
