NETGEAR introduces a new switch aimed at gamers, the Nighthawk Pro Gaming SX10 LAN switch. The new device features multiple 10GbE ports and is manageable through a web-interface.
The Nighthawk Pro Gaming SX10 LAN Switch offers hard-wired speeds for gamers who demand that extra bit and a lag-free performance. It has two auto-adaptive 10Gigabit/Multi-Gigabit ports delivering seamless data transfer with five different connectivity speeds. They can switch between 100Mbps, 1Gbps, 2.5Gbps, 5Gbps or 10Gbps as it is needed. With link-aggregation, you can go all the way up to 20Gbps.
One of the main software features of the switch is the Gaming Dashboard. It provides analytics for an overview into all that is happening with your network. It also prioritizes the right ports for the best quality of gameplay.
“All online gamers, whether they are casual, avid or professional, have one thing in common — the need for responsive, reliable, low-lag gameplay. With the introduction of Nighthawk Pro Gaming, NETGEAR is demonstrating our dedication to gamers to deliver products that enhance gaming performance,” says David Henry, senior vice president of Connected Home for NETGEAR. “We have worked tirelessly with gamers to engineer features that deliver best-in-class performance, customization and ease-of-use for the ultimate gaming experience. There should not be anything on your network that prevents you from having the ultimate game experience. With Nighthawk Pro Gaming, you will now have the power to win.”
The switch has a bunch of default features too. There are 8 normal Gigabit ports too which all feature port-based 802.1Q QoS. It also supports general port trunking and IGMP multicast. It supports up to 64 VLANs which is quite nice.
As this is a product aimed at gamers, there is one thing that has to be there. Yes, you guessed it: RGB. The SX10 switch has customizable RGB LEDs, allowing you to personalize every light on the switch.
NETGEAR’s new Nighthawk Pro Gaming SX10 LAN switch is available now, but it isn’t cheap. The MSRP is $299.99 in the US.
