Netstor Launch NA611TB3 NVMe RAID Thunderbolt 3 Enclosure

Netstor Technology introduces its new Thunderbolt 3 NVMe PCIe SSD storage device called the NA611TB3. It is a pocket-sized storage enclosure with dual Thunderbolt 3 interface, RAID options (software only), and space for two M.2 NVMe modules up to 110mm length.

External Doesn’t Necessarily Mean Slow

External storage is great, but it usually comes with a speed limitation. Thunderbolt 3 eliminates the connection bottleneck by offering up to 40Gbps throughput on a single cable. However, the drives installed will have to deliver the same performance so we don’t create another bottleneck.

With two PCIe x4 NVMe drives, that’s easily achieved. The NA611TB3 can offer data transfer rates up to 2750 MB/s.

Perfect for Creative Professionals

Digital content size is increasing by the sheer fact that the resolution is rising. We got 4K content going mainstream and 8K on the way. We shouldn’t forget about 3D, 360-degree, and similar technologies either. All that requires a vast amount of storage that’s fast.

Netstor’s NA611TB3 delivers the performance and it stays portable at the same time. The pocket-sized unit can easily be packed with the rest of your gear and taken along on your photo trip.

Connections and Cooling

NVMe M.2 modules can run quite hot, that’s no secret. To combat this, Netstor added a 20mm cooling fan to the unit. The fan speed is adjustable in two steps with a switch on the rear side. The enclosure’s material, aluminium, will also help with the heat dissipation.

The NA611TB3 comes with two Thunderbolt 3 ports, allowing you to daisy-chain up to 6 devices to the same host port.

Drive Support

Netstor NA611TB3 supports two M.2 NVMe drives of various size. Whether you have 2242, 2260, 2280, or 22110 modules, the unit can handle them.

Availability and Pricing

Netstor didn’t announce a date of availability nor a price at this time.
