If you’re a fan of free-to-play MMORPGs, then you already know that there are plenty of games available right now, including the former subscription-based Wildstar, Star Wars: The Old Republic and Neverwinter. Speaking of Neverwinter, this free-to-play game originally developed by Cryptic Studios is moving on into console territory, as it will become available for PlayStation 4 consoles later this year. This means that PS4 owners will be able to play it for free without the need of a PlayStation Plus subscription, and this will definitely help Neverwinter achieve a larger player base. The news was revealed on the Official PlayStation Blog, and it was accompanied by an official announce trailer.
“Neverwinter is a free-to-play MMORPG that transports players into the Forgotten Realms, where they will explore a fully realized experience based on the Dungeons & Dragons franchise. When Neverwinter arrives on PlayStation 4, it will feature all existing content from the base game, including eight playable classes and nine expansions worth of content giving you hundreds of quests to play through. Fight against the likes of Tiamat, Demogorgon, Orcus, Valindra and many more sinister enemies from Dungeons & Dragons lore. Adventurers will also travel through iconic locations such as Icewind Dale and the Underdark while teaming up with characters straight from the novels of acclaimed author R.A. Salvatore, including Drizzt Do’Urden.”
Furthermore, it looks like the game will also receive a fresh expansion named Storm King’s Thunder in August. You can have a look at the PS4 announce trailer and at the trailer for this expansion below.
