New Acer All In One PC Uses ARM And Android

A rumour that emerged a month or so back suggested that Acer would be giving up on all Windows operating systems. Today we could perhaps be seeing the beginning of this as Acer have revealed an Android all in one PC. The Acer DA241HL runs the Android 4.2 operating system with a 24 inch 1920 x 1080 display with a 10 point multi touch interface. This AIO PC uses HDMI out, USB ports and MHL (mobile high definition link). The device is kept under wraps in terms of the internal hardware so you can only speculate about what Acer have chosen.

Acer will reveal the product to the retail market in the middle of October for a price of $566 so expect UK pricing in the £400-450 region and EU pricing in the €500 to €550 region. That’s a lot of money for what is essentially an over-sized tablet. Who knows maybe Acer will be able to popularise Android AIOs to replace the Windows desktop platform.
