AMD has released its latest Adrenalin Edition version 23.7.1 driver for Radeon graphics cards fixing a variety of issues.
Adrenalin Edition Version 23.7.1
Today’s new driver update for AMD Radeon cards doesn’t offer anything major other than support for additional Vulkan extensions and a variety of fixed issues. Installing GPU drivers right as they release isn’t an advisable thing however if you are encountering some of these known issues, then it is a good enough reason to grab this update.
- Firstly an issue where certain VR games or applications experience stuttering and poor performance on Radeon RX 7000 series cards has been addressed and users should experience the expected performance of their card.
- Those who use DaVinci Resolve Studio may have encountered a crash or driver timeout during playback of AV1 video content, this has now been fixed.
- Those who worry about unnecessary power usage, AMD has improved upon the high idle power when using select 4k@144Hz FreeSync-enabled displays or multi-monitor configurations using RX 7000 GPUs.
- Some AMD graphics cards were experiencing intermittent corruption when switching windows whilst playing Nioh 2, this has been fixed.
AMD has also noted that the Factory Reset option is still disabled whilst they address the few issues of users reporting bricked Windows installations when ticking the box and installing drivers. This was reported back in March and I’m surprised it is still mentioned, I guess it’s best to play it safe.
