New Battlefield 3 DLC to be unveiled next week

EA has revealed that the 2nd DLC for it’s flagship FPS will be unveiled next week at a New York event.

Battlefield 3 received it’s first DLC last December “Back to Karkand”, which I my self downloaded, and it’s a great addition to the game, I don’t doubt the next DLC will be anything short of epic and successful.  Rumour has it that the new DLC will be based in the US, but as always with rumours, only time will tell if there is any truth to be had.

To add to the excitement, EA’s President of Investor Relations, Peter Ausnit confirmed a selection of DLC is planed for the FPS, which would be formally showcased at the event next week.  I don’t know if that means they will be releasing more than one content pack at a time, or if they will be publishing a road map for the future DLC packs, but you be sure we’ll post the news on that here next week.

Peter Ausnit: “We’ve got plans for all of our major franchises to turn them into more of… games for service that have a constant flow of downloadable content.  You’re going to hear some announcements from us on Battlefield actually as early as next week in an event we’ve got in New York.”
