A new Eee PC is readying to hit the shelves soon. The netbook will be available in a wide range of colours including black, white, grey, brown, pink, red, blue and purple. The ASUS Eee PC R052CE will feature Cedar Trail, which is Intel’s newest Intel Atom processor package, based off the 32nm manufacturing process. The exact model it will feature is the N2800 Atom, which is clocked at 1.87GHz across two cores and four threads on the BGA 559 socket. The L2 cache measures in at 1MB and as far as memory support goes the ASUS Eee PC R052CE supports 4GB of DDR3 1066MHz RAM but since these are ASUS Eee PC netbooks they probably won’t come with more than 1 or 2GB of RAM but the upgrade capacity is there if you need it. There’s also a 320 GB HDD, a 0.3-megapixel webcam, an SD card reader, an HDMI output, and a 6-cell (5,200 mAh) battery providing up to 12 hours of operation).
The screen is a 10.1″ L.E.D backlit monitor which will probably have a resolution of 1024 by 600. The graphics are powered by Intel HD as you might expect and the entire CPU/GPU package consumes just 6.5W of power under full load. It measures in at 262 x 178 x 20.7 ~ 34.4 mm and it weighs 1.25 kg.
The ASUS Eee PC R052CE runs Windows 7 Starter (it also comes with the Express Gate instant-on OS) and is available for pre-order at 329 Euro or 339 Euro depending on the colour.
