Since Fallout 4 came out, some players have been complaining about the game’s graphics, and even though I managed to enjoy it just fine, even I have to admit that I’ve seen better. When compared to Fallout 3, Fallout 4’s graphics are highly superior, but there are certain issues with lighting and shadows, issues that the modding community is actively trying to fix. We’ve just discovered a mod for Fallout 4 that aims to make the title’s world look a bit more natural, as it allows lamps to cast shadows. The reason why Bethesda has decided to leave this particular feature out is probably related to the game’s performance, but if you think that your rig could handle more light sources casting their own shadows, then you should probably give the mod a go.
A user named “retekkid” is responsible for the mod‘s creation, which can be downloaded right here. The most recent version also comes with fungi shadows and two new PipBoy lights. Below you will find a list that includes all affected lamps.
