New Gigabyte B250M Motherboard Unveiled

A new Gigabyte B250M Motherboard has today been unveiled, and is focused on the budget end of the market as you’d expect with a B250 motherboard. The board itself is of a black and red scheme, it would perhaps have been more beneficial to have a more neutral colour scheme, but maybe that’s just being too picky.

That being said, there is a lot of focus on the LED elements. The board has multiple lighting points, customisable via the RGB Fusion app, which can also be downloaded to your phone, allowing you to control the lighting in your PC, without being at you being near it. The board also features a dedicated RGBW header, meaning you are able to get a true, bright and more vibrant white colour than you’d normally gain from a RGBW light strip.

Moving on from the lighting, the board is socket 1151, m-atx and has the basic features you’d expect from a B250 motherboard. This means there will be no overclocking, and no Nvidia SLI, although as a binus for AMD GPU users, Crossfire is supported.

For memory there are 4 x DDR4 DIMM slots, supporting up to 64g, 1 x DVI-D port and also 1 x HDMI port. Audio is provided by Realtek and supports 2/4/5.1 and 7.1 channels.

Expansion slots are in the form of 1 x PCIE x16, running at x16, and 1 x PCIE slot running at x4. As for storage, there is 1 x m.2 connector and 6 x Sata 6Gb/s ports. As for USB, the board has 6 x USB 3.1, with 4 being on the rear and 2 more available via an internal header, and 5 x USB 3.0, 3 on the rear and 2 more available again via an internal header.

All in all, this is a pretty solid board for those not wanting to break the bank, it packs all the features you need, with the bonus of the customisable lighting which is becoming a standard feature in the world of motherboards.

As of yet, there is no mention on availability, when stockists will have it, or the pricing, it may be safe to assume that it will be around the £80-100 region.

Are you looking for a new motherboard? Would this be a board you be interested in?
