Details about the unannounced Aliens Fireteam Elite 2 have surfaced online. An internal document, referred to as Project Macondo, is circulating on reddit. The document suggests a release date in Q3 of 2025.
Project Macondo will serve as a sequel to Aliens Fireteam Elite. New modes, such as Annihilation, are included, which is the game’s version of Horde Mode. Unlike its predecessor, the sequel will feature preset character archetypes and non-customizable characters. The game will also not include micro-transactions, loot boxes, or gacha mechanics. Instead of in-game voice chat, players are advised to use console voice chat applications.
The leaked document reveals that Aliens Fireteam Elite 2 will have 13 missions with 12 hours of gameplay. It will feature nine different enemy types, five DAGGER characters, and 13 weapons. Although the game will not have post-launch microtransactions, additional content like Annihilation maps or story mission DLC is still under consideration.
While the details seem promising, some fans are skeptical. Many express disappointment, feeling the sequel is a downgrade from the original.
