New Patriot Viper Peripherals at Computex 2019

Patriot Viper

There’s a lot of cool new products at Computex 2019 this year. We’ve already seen the amazing PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive from Patriot, but what about their Viper branded gaming peripherals? First up, we have the V765 gaming keyboard. The keyboard hits all the common mark for a gaming keyboard, and offers a fully mechanical design. It uses Kailh Box switches, giving it an IP56 water and dust rating. There’s full RGB lighting, a built-in wrist rest, and multimedia controls too. Again, all fairly predictable, but it looks nice, has some aluminium and knowing Viper, it’ll be competitively priced too.

Viper V380 Headset

The Viper V380 headset is their latest flagship gaming headset. It features a pair of powerful 50mm drivers for a powerful and punchy sound. However, it has a built-in USB soundcard that provides some pretty robust virtual 7.1 surround sound too. The little we tested it, we were pretty impressed with the sound quality.

It comes with a USB header, so it’s widely supported on PC and plug and play ready. With a detachable microphone, you can use it or store it to suit your needs too. The most impressive thing, however, is the ENC on the microphone. It cuts out ambient noise from your voice chat. The benefit is that your team mates shouldn’t hear your cooling fans, mechanical keyboard, etc, while you’re screaming into the mic.

It comes with a huge design, but it is surprisingly lightweight despite the size. Plus, with massive ear cups, it fits around the ears with ease and distributes weight evenly. I criticised them in the past for a poor fit, and they’ve taken my advice and adjusted the ear cup angles; it fits flush to my head now. Overall, it’s a big step up and shows they’re listening to feed back.

No word on price just yet, but we expect it’ll be competitive and hitting the market fairly soon.
