New Revised 12V-2×6 Connector Was Quietly Used In RTX 4070 FE

A few days ago IgorsLab showed off the new 12V-2X6 connector which was a revision on the faulty 12VHPWR connector and is currently unreleased. As it turns out, this revised connector has already been used, again revealed by IgorsLab.
RTX 4070 FE Secretly Uses 12V-2×6
After examining some of the 12VHPWR connectors on FE cards, Igors Wallosek made the surprising discovery that the RTX 4070 FE is already using the 12V-2×6 connector which was shared just days ago. Since its launch, the 4070 FE has been using a modified variant which features the 1.7 mm inward offset on the “sense” pins. After discovering this on the FE card, Igor went on to inspect some AIB cards including the MSI RTX 4080 Gaming X Trio and RTX 4070 Gaming X Trio and discovered that this change also affected that specific AIB card.
This is a rather strange discovery and makes me question why this has been kept quiet by NVIDIA. If I was to make a guess, it is possible NVIDIA could be simply experimenting in a similar way to drug testing where some are given a placebo. I haven’t heard of any RTX 4070 cards burning up so this revision of the 12VHPWR could be the right solution.
