Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is shaping up to be one of the biggest Christmas gaming releases. The franchise has proven to be remarkably solid for Nintendo and adds to another major franchise title relatively early in the Switch’s life cycle.
With the brand new trailer, there is, however, something that many people feel is missing. Namely, some backing music. Well, rest assured the internet has looked to fill the gap!
The first Twitter post we found shows a dramatic piece that fits in well. It could’ve been the official music used by Nintendo. It’s good, but not exactly funny. Moving on!
Next up we have (what I’m reliably told) is Linkin Park. Maybe a bit heavy going for Nintendo, but it works surprisingly well for you hardcore Smash Bros. players.
Next up we have some music from the Avengers: Infinity War. It, again, works remarkably well with a solid balance of gravitas and drama!
Without a doubt, my favourite so far has to be Queen’s ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’. Aside from it being a great track it actually, beyond all measure, fits in really well with the video. Like… really well!
In truth, it’s very possible that Nintendo deliberately made this choice with the trailer to promote fans creating their own content. It’s free advertising after all. At the very least though, it proves again that if you give the internet an inch, it’ll take a yard!
