New Update to No Man’s Sky Brings Trillions of Planets

It seems that every time I hear about No Man’s Sky, there is always a huge new update adding a plethora of content, ranging from entirely new planets and diverse biomes to exciting new ships and a great deal more. Now, to kick off 2025, Hello Games has just released its latest instalment in a long line of huge, free updates, further expanding the already vast universe of the game… and I doubt they’re even done adding more stuff!
Sean Murray, managing director of Hello Games, recently stated that Hello Games’ next project, Light No Fire, is currently in development. He even went so far as to suggest that Light No Fire is one of the reasons we’re receiving new No Man’s Sky content today, implying a cross-pollination of ideas and advancements between the two projects.
What Hello Games Has to Say
“Across the universe, we’re adding billions of new solar systems and trillions of new planets,” Sean Murray explained in an email sent to PC Gamer, “and introducing new biomes and terrains without changing what people already love about the game.”
New Content
The new update also promises engaging new endgame content in the form of massive Gas Giants, colossal celestial bodies ten times bigger than the current largest planets. These massive worlds will offer new challenges and opportunities for exploration. Furthermore, many of the new planets boast a “new terrain system” which facilitates the creation of truly towering mountains, reaching incredible heights, and even “oceans that can be several kilometres deep,” Murray reveals. These dramatic geographical features promise to make exploration even more breathtaking and immersive.
