The New Zelda Game Won This Year’s E3 Social Media Battle

The Legend of Zelda is possibly the most imaginative, iconic franchise ever conceived and inspired many developers to pay homage to Nintendo’s innovative action RPG formula. Throughout the years, Zelda games have brought so much joy to the gaming community and told wonderful stories. Personally, I adore the Zelda series and particularly love the WindWaker art style. In the modern age, people can voice their opinions and share views with others using online social media. This allows us to gauge the reception many games have and determine their social media reach. According to BrandWatch. Microsoft received the most mentions during the last three days and defeated Sony by 11%. This is probably down to the late time for Sony’s conference in certain demographics and discussion about two new consoles.
The main coup though is being the most talked about game during E3 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild achieved this feat by a landslide. As you can see from the chart below, the new Zelda soared into first position and managed a social media reach beyond 75,000. This even defeats many popular games combined together. While I’m not surprised to see Zelda at the top, it’s by a much larger margin than I anticipated. As a result, this is fantastic news for Nintendo and shows the appetite many people have for Zelda. Perhaps the long playthrough and explanation of many new ideas caused a great deal of discussion and whether they approved of this direction.
Honestly, the new Zelda looks absolutely breathtaking in terms of visual art, and gameplay. While I own a Wii U, it will be mightily difficult to resist buying an NX to play Zelda on the best hardware.
