Next-Gen / PC Version of GTA V Not Delayed Says Rockstar
Peter Donnell / 10 years ago
Rumors have been kicking around this last couple of weeks that Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC has been delayed. These rumors have had some weight to them too, especially given that Rockstar have been pretty quiet about the progress of the game’s development surrounding recent major gaming events and have yet to give a solid release date.
Many people contacted Rockstar for some kind of confirmation of the games progress and fortunately for us gamers, they’ve responded.
“I’m also looking forward to the PC release, however this release date has not changed. Please see our support article, “Grand Theft Auto V Release Date on PlayStation®4, Xbox One, and PC” for the most recent information on this topic.” said Rockstar.
Keep in mind that this response is the only one so far and it was in response to the PC version. I wouldn’t look too much into that of course as the editions for console and PC and said to be launching alongside each other, but it’s not unheard of for a developer to say things are OK then make a statement countering such information days or weeks later, such is the erratic world of games development; this can and usually do go wrong.
Personally I’m hopeful the game will be out pre-Christmas, but for now we still don’t have anything more than “this fall”, so all eyes are still on Rockstar to give us the date.
Thank you PSL for providing us with this information.
