Nextivity Cel-Fi RS2 3G Coverage Booster Review

We could tell you the ins and outs of setting the unit up but the last page really talks for itself and simply involves plugging the two devices in, at their relevant locations and finding the best spot for each unit. Nextivity also include a video showing how the device works and what comes included, which you can watch below.

In terms of the performance of the unit, it took a while to get the opportune location for the coverage unit, and involved me installing the window unit upstairs, and the coverage unit at the complete opposite end of the building, downstairs. Once this was done, we were still only able to get a 6 maximum, but this is really down to how bad the signal really is where we’re based.

The idea of the unit is to grab the 3G signal and to boost it to the coverage unit, and then onward to your mobile device, but sadly if your 3G signal is truly bad, like mine, it will boost it as best as it can, but don’t expect to receive a full signal. Instead, my iPhone 4 managed to be increase from 1 bar with GPRS to 4 bars with 3G which is still amazing in its own right.

We are also in the process of moving our offices, and we know for a fact that the new property has 3G coverage on my phone, on Orange of 3 bars with 3G, so I’m expecting this device to increase it to maximum signal.

Before using this device, calls used to randomly drop, if people could get through at all, as sometimes I would find my phone with over 20 missed calls in one day, whereas now I’m lucky if I receive 1 or even 2 missed calls in one 24 hour period.
