Nexus 5 3000 mAh Battery Not Applicable According To New Leak

It appears that today we are having a Nexus 5 leak  frenzy, and here’s another one which puts at least one rumor to rest. As we found in some leaks earlier, Google planned to bring multiple variants of their next-generation Nexus Smartphones with varying battery capacities. The leak appears to have been misleading, so there is no point hoping for a 3000 mAh battery packed in the new handset. The Nexus 5 is confirmed to carry a 2,300 mAh battery unit, which we feel is quite good already. Sure, it doesn’t match up to the Xperia Z1 and LG G2, both of which have 3,000 mAh batteries, but owing to the lack of OEM overlay and extra background apps, we expect the Nexus 5 to come close to the battery life on offer by rivals.

Also, it has been once again confirmed that the Nexus 5 will come in only two variants, 16 GB and 32 GB, without a micro SD card slot as expected. It is good to know that Google isn’t launching an 8 GB variant, as we found that to be completely useless. According to the latest reports, and deductions based on the teaser images being posted by KitKat’s Twitter account, Google will announce Android 4.4 KitKat, and most probably the Nexus 5 alongside it, on October 21st.
